ASA is constantly striving to improve as an organization and as a resource for its members. This being the case, we have put together annual reports for every year beginning with the academic year 2006-07. ASA is run by an executive board comprised of student leaders who take on various roles to ensure ASA runs effeciently and productively. Such positions include President, Vice President of Membership, Treasurer, Webmaster, Exam Review Coordinator, Secretary, Banquet Coordinator, and Activity Chair. Various positions are up for election each semester so click here to learn more!
Members of ASA are the best and brightest students in each class. They have the initiative it takes to develop themselves into better students, future employees, and individuals. Click the above link to see this year's members.
Open to students of any major, the Accounting Student Association holds meetings alternate Thursdays at 5:00 PM. Our meetings offer students the opportunity to hear professionals speak on various useful subjects such as resumes, differences between firms, interviews and even professional attire. We hold company tours, where you can see accounting impact real business decisions.
ASA plans many activities that will help you to learn, meet people, network and make a difference. Whether it’s helping to advertise for the club or helping build homes with Habitat for Humanity, there is always something worthwhile to do in the ASA.
Benefits
There are many benefits to becoming a member or the ASA. We keep students up to date on campus recruiting opportunities. We assemble and send out a resume book every semester to many firms, both large and small. These connections help our members get jobs and internships. In addition, every semester we host several social and philanthropic events. The Accounting Student Association offers a priceless opportunity to get to know your peers, teachers, and visiting business professionals.
Dues are $35 for Fall and $40 for Spring, which is well worth it for all the free food you’ll be getting! The reason it is more expensive for the Spring semester is because of our Annual ASA Banquet. See our Treasurer to pay your dues and to receive a membership application, or pick one up in the Accounting Department office in McClelland Hall. In addition to dues, if any member would like to be listed in the ASA resume book, a book that is given to each recruiter who attends "Meet the Firms" and many other recruiting events on campus, additional requirements must be fulfilled.
